Ticaret ve Sanayi Kontuvarı T.A.Ş., which is also known as Kristal Yağları in the retail trade, is the passion for olive oil of a family that has devoted its life and heart to olive tree since the day it was founded.
The story of Kristal started with a journey. In the 1860s, the Micaleff family arrived on a ferry from Malta to Izmir for food trading and the story of this family eventually became a story of firsts.
In 1938, to convert commercial life experience and dreams into a permanent work, Micaleff family started olive oil production in Izmir. The Family was aware of how important it was to create a trademark to turn into a company and became one of the creators of Turkey's first olive oil brand in 1945. They memorialized the ship which brought their grandfathers to this fertile land and carried it to the logo of the brand whilst crowning this young brand a name worthy of the clarity, purity and value of their products: KRİSTAL!
Having pioneered and served to flourish and develop olive oil culture especially in Anatolia, Kristal is still known as "Vapurlu Yağ" (i.e. a nick name given to Kristal meaning olive oil bearing a ship on its logo) in many regions of Anatolia. The company still reflects its 80-year tradition and passion for olive oil in its products and services even today.
